Buster ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application for scam detection and content analysis.

Information We Collect

• Content you share for analysis (screenshots, links, text)
• Analysis history stored locally on your device

• Device information (device type, operating system)
• Usage data (features used, analysis requests)
• Error logs and crash reports for app improvement

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Analyze shared content for scam detection and content verification using AI
• Provide analysis results and recommendations
• Improve our detection algorithms
• Maintain and improve app functionality
• Provide technical support when needed

Data Processing and AI Analysis

On Our Infrastructure: All AI analysis is performed within our own cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We operate our own AI models and processing pipelines — no user data is shared with any third-party AI service. Content you share is securely transmitted to our servers, analyzed, and results are returned to your device.

Share Extension: Our iOS Share Extension allows you to quickly share suspicious content from other apps. This content is temporarily processed for analysis and then discarded.

Image Analysis: Screenshots and images you share are analyzed using computer vision on our infrastructure to detect scam indicators such as fake logos, suspicious text, or phishing attempts.

Voice Chat: Voice conversations with Buster are processed in real-time on our infrastructure and are not stored on our servers.

Web Verification: To verify claims found in shared content, our system may perform web searches using DuckDuckGo. Only derived search queries are sent — no personal data, images, or original content is shared with DuckDuckGo.

Data Storage and Security

• Analysis results are stored locally on your device using iOS App Groups
• Shared content is transmitted securely to AWS using encrypted connections
• We do not permanently store your shared content on our servers
• Analysis requests are processed and results returned without data retention
• Your device data is protected using iOS security features

Third-Party Services

Buster does not share your personal data with any third-party AI service. All AI analysis is performed on our own cloud infrastructure.

The external services used are:

• DuckDuckGo Search — Used to verify claims found in shared content. Only derived search queries are sent; no personal data, images, or original content is shared.
• Meta (Facebook) SDK — Used for ad attribution and app analytics. Collects a device identifier for advertising purposes, subject to your App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent. No personal content or analysis data is shared with Meta. See Meta's Privacy Policy.

Advertising & Tracking

Buster uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK for ad attribution. On first launch, you will be asked for permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Children's Privacy

Buster is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your local analysis history at any time
• Stop using the app and remove all data by deleting the app
• Contact us with questions about your data

Data Retention

• Analysis results are stored locally on your device until you delete them
• Shared content sent for analysis is not retained on our servers
• You can clear your analysis history within the app at any time

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
